Marina Cetkovic-Cvrlje, M.D., Ph.D., holds a full professor of immunology position in the Department of Biology at Saint Cloud State University (SCSU), USA. Dr. Cetkovic-Cvrlje has devoted the entire career to autoimmune type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Since joining SCSU in 2006, she has established a Laboratory for Immunology, providing research opportunities for numerous undergraduate and graduate students to study effects of various environmental compounds on the development of autoimmune diabetes in murine models of T1D. She has been teaching Immunology, Pathophysiology and Public Health Controversies. Dr. Cetkovic-Cvrlje has been a strong advocate for raising awareness about effects of environmental compounds on T1D.
Jeena N Janardhanan is a medical doctor (Ayurveda) specialized in ENT and Ophthalmology. She has been in the field of research, academics as well as administration for the past 14 years. She is presently Associate Professor and HOD at Vaidyaratnam P S Varier Ayurveda College, which is under Kerala University of Health Sciences. She has been in the field of Ayurveda, treating patients for the past 20 years. She is the faculty member, Board of studies member of different Universities.
Mohamed Eddouks is Professor at Moulay Ismail University, Faculty of Sciences and Techniques Errachidia, Morocco. He is a researcher in Physiology and Pharmacology with a Master Degree in Metabolic and Molecular Endocrinology from University of Paris vi, a specialized certificate in Endocrine Pharmacology from University of Paris vii and PhD degrees in Physiology and Pharmacology from University of Liege, Belgium and Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah University, Fez, Morocco. After his post-doctoral fellowship at Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine of Montreal, Canada, he is working for the last 16 years on medicinal plants. His work on antidiabetic and antihypertensive plants is well recognized globally.
Research Interest
His research focuses on ethnobiological as well as pharmacological issues in the use of Moroccan medicinal plants for the treatment of diabetes mellitus, obesity and hypertension.
